Why We Grow Our Own Hemp: Seed to Sale Story

Walk into most CBD stores, browse most CBD websites, and you will find brands built on impressive packaging, bold marketing claims, and very little else. Most CBD brands never touch a plant. They purchase finished oils or ready-made products from large commercial brokers, attach their label to the bottle, and sell it as though it were their own craft. We chose a different path from the beginning, and we believe that choice is felt in every product Banner Harvest makes.

What Most Companies Actually Do

The large-scale hemp industry operates on a model built around volume. Massive quantities of hemp biomass are grown commercially, processed in bulk facilities, stored in warehouses, and distributed through brokers who supply dozens or hundreds of brands simultaneously. In some cases, hemp material or distillate may sit in storage for a year or longer before eventually making its way into a finished consumer product. This is not a fringe practice. It is the standard operating model for a significant portion of the CBD industry.

Why We Built Something Different

Banner Harvest was built on a different philosophy entirely. We oversee the process from soil to oil. That is not a marketing phrase. It is a description of how our products are actually made. Paul ImOberstag has spent decades learning this plant from the ground up, beginning during the early years of the legal cannabis industry in Colorado. We planted 15,000 seedlings by hand. We made the decision to keep manufacturing in-house rather than outsource it because we believe that control over the process is inseparable from control over the quality.

What In-House Manufacturing Actually Changes

When production is kept in-house, every batch reflects current knowledge and current standards. There is no warehouse inventory of aging material being worked through. There is no disconnection between the people who grew the hemp and the people who created the finished product. Our focus has always been on artisan quality and small-batch production. This is not the most efficient approach from a pure cost standpoint. It is, however, the approach that produces the most consistent, highest-quality results.

The Same Standard You Apply to Food

The same instinct that drives someone to choose a farmers market over a factory-farmed product is exactly the right instinct to apply to CBD. Hemp is a wellness product people put into their bodies, often daily. At Banner Harvest, that has always been the baseline. We believe consumers deserve to know what is in their products, where it came from, and who made it. That transparency is not a marketing advantage. It is simply what responsible wellness looks like.
